Bud Hornbeck named the 2011 VIP of the year

Bud Hornbeck, President of Lutgert Insurance was recently named the 2011 VIP of the year by the Insurance Professionals of Collier County, an affiliate of the National Association of Insurance Women, International (NAIW).

The award recognizes excellence among those employed in the insurance industry who has made a significant contribution to the industry, to the community and to members of the Association. Among the criteria considered in conferring the award are the candidate’s support of Association activities, involvement in the industry and activities undertaken in the community. Local members nominate qualified candidates by preparing an essay about the nominee. A panel of outside judges review the nominations to recommend the award recipient.

Bud has been in the industry for over 30 years. He is a graduate of Leadership Collier and was honored with the Leadership Collier Distinguished Alumni Award. He is involved in various community activities, including Naples Little League, Collier Education Foundation and American Heart Association. In addition, he was integral in the formation of the Winged Foot Scholarship Foundation and served as the Chairman for many years. Mr. Hornbeck serves on the Executive Board of the Naples Chamber of Commerce and the Patient’s Advocacy Board for Naples Community Hospital.

Following are some excerpts from the essay submitted by the nominating members: “He is 100% behind our involvement in the Insurance Professionals of Collier County. He supports our continuing education endeavors by allowing us to teach and attend Association sponsored Continuing Education Classes. He has encouraged members to attain designations and attend conferences. He values the relationships we cement with other insurance professionals on the agency side as well as the company side throughout the State and the Region. He leads by example. His involvement in the community has been a model for all of us, giving freely of his time to many organizations over the years.”

The Insurance Professionals of Collier County was chartered in 1989 and currently has over 40 members. There are 22 local associations in the State of Florida. NAIW is an association of nearly 10,000 insurance professionals dedicated to the development of leaders in the insurance industry. The national organization has 320 local affiliates throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, with headquarters in Tulsa, Okla.

Christopher Harrington Joins Premier SIR

Mr. Harrington’s distinguished career includes 24 years of management experience with exceptional results in marketing and promotional strategies, fiscal oversight, information technology, and associate recruitment and training.

Most recently, Mr. Harrington served as the Chief Operating Officer with Prudential Palms Realty in Sarasota, Florida and was responsible for the daily operations of 6 residential locations and 250 sales agents.

From 2001 to 2007, Harrington was managing broker for Coldwell Banker offices in Longboat Key, East St. Armands Key and West St Armands Key, in Sarasota.  His responsibilities included oversight of daily operations and 145 sales associates and employees.  Harrington was credited by many of the top agents for his role in achieving record sales volumes during his tenure there.

Harrington, a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker, studied at the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina, and Winthrop College in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He is a Dale Carnegie graduate, and a certified real estate coach.  He is also a former USPTA tennis professional.

Curry Elected as Florida Council Director

Ms. Betty Curry, Operations Manager for Lutgert Insurance, was elected to the position of Florida Council Director at the September, Florida Council meeting of the National Association of Insurance Women.  Ms. Curry will oversee the 22 local Florida chapters and will report to the Regional Vice President and to corporate office in Tulsa, OK.  She will assume her duties in July 2011.

Ms. Curry has been in the insurance industry since 1972.  She joined the staff at Lutgert in 1993.  Prior to becoming the agency’s Operations Manager in 2002, Ms. Curry worked in Personal and Commercial lines, managed the Personal Lines Division and the Claims Department, served as Special Projects Coordinator and worked as Office Manager.

She is a charter member and three-time past president of the Insurance Women of Collier County. Ms. Curry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from the State University of New York.

Betty has been with Lutgert Insurance since 1993 and involved in the Insurance Professionals of Collier County for nearly 20 years.

National Association of Insurance Women, Region 3 Award

Betty Curry, Operations Director of Lutgert Insurance, Naples office, won the very prestigious National Association of Insurance Women, Region 3 award at their recent convention held in Charleston, SC.  The award is given to those who demonstrate dedication to the association on a local, state and regional level. Region III is comprised of members from Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.
 
“I am extremely proud that Betty Curry has received this award,” said Bud Hornbeck, President of Lutgert Insurance.  “Her work in the insurance field has been outstanding for many years.  This award is very well deserved.”

The National Association of Insurance Women (International) brings together both men and women throughout the United States to facilitate further education in all lines of insurance.

Jennifer L. Wenke Qualifies for President’s Council Award

Jennifer L. Wenke of Lutgert Insurance has qualified to receive the National Association of Health Underwriters Presidential Council Award given by the Leading Producers Round Table (LRPT). The award is bestowed upon individuals who demonstrate professional excellence in the sale of health and disability income insurance,  and sales management.

Wenke has qualified for the award for the past three consecutive years, and is the former chapter president of the local Southwest Florida Association of Health Underwriters for Lee and Collier Counties.

Founded in 1930, The National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) is the leading association of health insurance professionals  who provide insurance for millions of Americans. NAHU is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

Patrick Trittler Joins Lutgert Insurance

Naples-based Lutgert Insurance announced Patrick joined the team at Lutgert insurance as a licensed Property & Casualty Agent in 2008. Patrick is a graduate of the University of Missouri and moved to Naples in 1995 where he worked as a Golf Professional at a local golf club and played professional golf for four years.

Since 1999 Patrick has been in magazine advertising sales for two local luxury lifestyle magazines. Patrick resides in Naples with his wife and two children. Patrick is a graduate of Leadership Collier 2007, a member of the Board of the Education Foundation of Collier County, a Task Force Member for the Children’s Museum of Naples, a member of the NCH Ball Sponsorship Committee, and works with the National Kidney Foundation annual golf tournament.

In that capacity, she will be responsible for sales concentration within the personal lines markets. She has 18 years of local experience providing consultative risk management solutions for individuals and families. Her experience dates back to 1980, in Troy, Michigan. Sandi has lived in Southwest Florida for 18 years and currently holds a 220 General Lines.
