Picasso Leather has opened at the Village

Posted by briank | Naples, Shopping Centers, SWFL News, Village on Venetian Bay | Posted on April 30th, 2010

For the traveler, the business person, or just someone who appreciates genuine fine leather goods, Picasso Leather will suit your individual case.

Located on the north side of the Village on Venetian Bay, adjacent to the “dancing waters” fountain, Picasso has a full line of distinctive leather goods from soft side luggage to portfolios to wallets and handbags. There are also money belts, eye shades, and locks for luggage to aid the traveler.

Proprietor, Sofie Lemech, said the Village at Venetian Bay is the right fit for their boutique shop. “I love The Village. Our shop doesn’t fit in with the large malls. It is a small shop with focus on personal service and meshes well with the other boutique-style shops here,” said Mrs. Lemech. “It’s a niche market for us with no other luggage shops here at The Village. We specialize in leather goods primarily from Italy and Columbia,” said Mrs. Lemech.

The shop also carries a line of hard case luggage from International Leather that features distinctive, brightly colored fun patterns to make identifying your luggage a simple task.

Homeowners Describe Living at The Strada

Posted by briank | Mercato, Naples, Real Estate, Real Estate Market, Shopping Centers, SWFL News | Posted on April 30th, 2010

Although, they come from varied backgrounds, residents at The Strada at Mercato share a common thread in preferred residential living – convenience. Everything you need for daily living, all in one place.

Beth Ankerman moved from the Big Apple to Naples to be closer to her mother. In looking for a new home, the 28-year old wanted new construction and a close proximity to good restaurants. When visiting The Strada at Mercato, she recognized something familiar. One main street, lined with apartments, restaurants, shops and markets, just like her English village where other family members reside.

“I didn’t want to have to drive everywhere,” said Beth. “ I wanted be somewhere where I have the opportunity to do happy hours and meet people.” Beth likes the choices of both fine dining such as Capital Grille, or casual fare like the Pub and Piola plus entertainment being just steps away. Silverspot Cinema has plush, leather seats that let you kick back, relax and watch the latest releases while a full restaurant and cocktail lounge offer more sophisticated snacks than just popcorn and soda.

“The movie theatre with the reclining seats and a bar is just so much fun,” Beth continued. “You go with your girlfriend, grab a bottle of wine and watch a movie.”
